Who we are and what we believe tends to be directly related to everything that’s happened to us and everything we’ve done in our lives.  When you tell someone about yourself, the big things of your past often come out, but sometimes embarrassment or fear keep those parts of your past locked up.

One such piece of the puzzle known as my life is the fact that I am not married to (and never was) my daughter’s mother.  It’s understandable that there is a fear of what people might think of me if I were to tell them that before they really know me, but it’s part of my past.  It doesn’t define who I am, but who I am today is affected by it.  Sometimes it takes a while to accept your past as unchangeable and letting go of that fear is often a result of that acceptance.

Fear can hold you back from great things.  You don’t have to be afraid.

It’s time to let go.  What are you hiding?
