Genesis 8-9
What would it have been like on the boat with Noah and his family? I wonder if God kept the animals quiet to a degree or if it sounded like ten thousand chickens in a coop made for a hundred. I’m sure the smell was more noticeable than the noise. I wonder if the boys and their wives got seasick at all. It must have been an interesting time for the whole family. Not really much opportunity to go off by yourself for some quiet time either. Think about all they were leaving behind too. This is the first instance where God asked someone to leave everything behind to do His will. Noah didn’t have to leave his family, but he did leave just about everything else. I haven’t been asked to leave everything to follow God’s calling, but I have been asked to be willing. That willing nature only comes when you are right with God and walking with Him as Noah was.
Psalm 4
My best days are when I recognize the truth in this Psalm of David. God is more than enough for me and satisfies my every need. The days when I recognize that are the the days when I feel like David did. I feel like God picked me out of the crowd. I feel a step ahead of the world. The point is that the glory is to God because He is the All-Satisfying One.
