I am leaving for vacation in 10 hours.
Before I leave I just wanted to follow up on a post from my friend, Ted Deitrick. What he is going through is yet another reminder to me that I need to step it up. For the longest time I went through life, school, and work only putting forth enough effort to get by. I have not been diligent with a little, but was still expecting much. Over the past month I have worked to change that attitude in myself and, although it is a tough road, I feel that I am making good progress. I realize that I have been put in charge of a lot already, but where I want to go involves a whole lot more, so I need to really get down and do great things with my “little.”
To make it an even heavier hitting weekend, Kent Chevalier preached a sermon on humility from James 4:1-12. I am glad I am headed for vacation in 9 hours (that’s write, I’ve been writing this little bit for an hour, but I’ve been multitasking), because I need some time to relax, but also some time to let a lot of God’s Word sink in deep into my soul.
I encourage you to read Ted’s post. If you can’t make it to North Way tomorrow, be sure to catch Kent’s sermon here later in the week.
FYI: During the next week, I will be disconnected from blogs, twitter (incoming) and facebook. Facebook and twitter will still be getting updates from me, but I am shutting off all the sms updates to my phone. You can see what I’m doing and wish you were there, but I am leaving you all behind for a week.
