empty promisses. You know what I’m talking about. Year after year we make new years resolutions (often times the same one every year), and more often than not, we fail. We utter lines like “This year will be different,” and “I’m really going to do it this year.” Our commitments are overturned by excuses and good intentions revert to old habits.
I want to challenge you to something different this year. I want you to commit to one thing this year, knowing that you are not doing it alone. I am taking on this challenge along with a diverse group of my friends. I want you to read the entire Bible this year. It doesn’t matter how you do it or why version you use. I am using The Message paraphrase.
There’s another part of this challenge. You have to have someone else doing it with you for acountability sake.
With this challenge comes a change for me. This blog over the next year now has one primary purpose, to act as an online journal of my journey through His Word.
If you would like to be on the same page as me through this journey, pick up a copy of The Daily Message
While you’re at it, pick up a copy of Primal by Mark Batterson. It’s a great book that everyone should read and is also where this challenge originated for me.
Looking back, I failed at this pretty quickly.
