It’s Monday. Family has gone back to their homes and the work week begins. It was just yesterday that we were celebrating Risen Christ, but is today any different than last Monday? How can it be that we so soon go back to the daily grind of life? If we have confessed with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our hearts that He raised from the dead, then we have that same resurrection power inside of us. But do we live like that is true?

This is not just a question for the week following Easter; but our inheritance of the glory of Christ as co-heirs of The Kingdom is more fresh in our minds after a weekend focused on the death and resurrection of Jesus. Even in an age where the news of church bombings on Easter morning weighs heavy on the heart of The Church, we should not live in fear.

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Romans 8:14-17 (NIV)

Resurrection Power Every Day

What if we committed to declare freedom that The Gospel brings? Resurrection power is here today, just as much as it was yesterday and every day since Jesus raised to life that first Easter. We share in His glory, not for our own sake, but in order to have the power to proclaim life and truth to the world.

Jesus’ death and resurrection was not just a nice story to hear about once a year. His death paid for our healing, freedom, and life. And if we are disciples of Christ, His resurrection power lives in us. Let’s live with resurrection power every day.
